A Review on Environmental Threats and Challenges of Kolleru Lake

Abstract

Kolleru Lake is the largest fresh water lake ecosystems in India having rich resources of wild life and fish‟s wealth and also supporting agriculture in the country. The Ramsar Convention (IUCN, 1971) was the first to identify the lake in coastal Andhra Pradesh as a wetland. It is located between two major deltas, Godavari on the east and Krishna on the west. It is situated mostly in West Godavari and partly in Krishna districts. Lake receives about 65000 to 1, 10, 000 cusecs of water from catchments. A number of streams open into it. They include Tammileru, Budameru, Ramileru and Gunderu. The only outlet is Upputeru which connects the lake to Bay of Bengal. Outflow varies from 6,500 to 14,600 cusecs.............

Study of Geometric Variations on Drag over Rectangular Cavities at Yaw

Abstract

The impact of varying L/D and L/W ratios, of clean rectangular cavities immersed within a turbulent boundary layer and placed at yaw is studied. Specifically, the cavity behavior, drag in particular, is examined in this work. Steady state simulations were performed to develop an improved understanding of the effect of L, D, and W variations on the drag generated by these cavities. Simulations were performed using OpenFOAM, the open source CFD package. Five L/D ratios, namely 8.125, 12, 24, 32.5, and 64, are considered along with three L/W ratios, namely 8.125, 16.25, and 32. All of the L/D and L/W ratio cavities are yawed at angles of 00, 300, 450, 600, 750, and 900. The drag produced by each of the cavities are then plotted against the yaw angles. A change is cavity behavior is observed as the L/D and L/W ratios are varied. The change in flow phenomena due to the yaw angle variation was previously studied by the author in [1].

Abstract

Clustering is an unsupervised learning problem which is used to determine the intrinsic grouping in a set of unlabeled data. This paper presents a comparative analysis of various clustering algorithms on two different datasets named Pima Diabetics and Cleveland Heart Disease dataset. In this experiment, the effectiveness of algorithms is evaluated by comparing the results on Weka tool.

Abstract

India is an agricultural nation and paddy is its primary crop. This project is focused on fabricating a manually operated rice transplanter for small scale Indian paddy cultivators. Since more than 80% of Indian rice landholdings are less than two hectares, there is an urgent need to develop farm machineries for highly labor intensive farm activities, as the labor availability is declining rapidly. Rice transplanters were first developed in Japan in the early 1960's. Since then technology has been contributing very much in this field by providing improved mechanism. . Releasing of work force to sectors other than Agriculture is important to develop the country. To release the work force in paddy sector mechanization plays a big role. To feed growing population is a huge challenge. Importation of rice will lead to drain out the economy of the country. Mechanization of paddy sector will lead to higher productivity with releasing of work force to other sectors. The objective of this project was to design a paddy transplanting mechanism to transplant paddy seedlings by small scale farmers in the country. Mechanical transplanting of rice is the process of transplanting specifically raised seedling of rice as a mat using mechanical rice transplanted at.

In this paper, we present an overview of the direct extraction of phase from fringe pattern by the use of a wavelet transform algorithm based on the Morlet mother wavelet function. Numerical simulations are presented, to demonstrate the ability of our method to provide, with a good accuracy, phase distribution from a single image without the unwrapping step. Abstract

Heat exchangers are the equipment used in industrial processes to recover heat between two process fluids. They are widely used in space heating, refrigeration, air conditioning, power plants, chemical plants, petrochemical plants, petroleum refineries, and natural gas processing. The operating efficiency of these exchangers plays a very key role in the overall running cost of a plant. So the designers are on a trend of developing heat exchangers which are highly efficient, compact, and cost effective. A common problem in industries is to extract maximum heat from a utility stream coming out of a particular process, and to heat a process stream. Therefore the objective of present work involves study of refinery process and apply phenomena of heat transfer for Aluminum as material and with different thickness for thermal design procedure of the double pipe counter flow heat exchanger. The validation of design out comes will be done by simulation in CFD software..

An Effective Detection of Similar Video Streams Using DQO Techniques

Abstract

It is undesirable to manually check whether a video is part of a long stream by browsing its entire length. Video subsequence identification involves locating the position of the most similar part with respect to a user specified query clip Q from a long pre-stored video sequence S. Data mining focuses on extracting useful information from large volumes of data, and thus has been the center of much attention in recent years. Building scalable, extensible, and easy-to-use data mining systems, however, has proved to be difficult. In this system, a framework is proposed to find the similar content of a short query clip from a long video sequence, with extension to identify the occurrence of potentially different ordering or length due to content editing using kNN- search, Maximum Size Matching (MSM) and Sub-Maximum Similarity Matching (SMSM) Algorithms.

A circular-arc graph is the intersection graph of family arcs on a circle. Many projects involving graphs even pure graph theory itself, involve algorithms. Abstract

The study of two dimensional oscillatory flow of an electrically conducting incompressible viscous fluid through a porous medium with constant suction bounded by two infinite vertical porous plates in presence of a heat source have been presented. A uniform magnetic field is applied transversely to the direction of the flow. The governing equations are solved by regular perturbation technique. The magnetic Reynold's number is assumed to be very small so that the induced magnetic field can be neglected. The discussion is confined to small Eckert Number E.............

Abstract

Advanced Microcontroller Bus Architecture(AMBA) Advanced eXtensible Interface (AXI) was developed by ARM Ltd and is extensively used in System-on–chip (SoC) designs as an on-chip bus. It is fit for the submicron interconnects which are very high in speed. In the verification strategy, Questa® Advanced Simulator has been used to verify AXI protocol under TSMC 0.18um Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) One-Poly-Six-Metal1P6M Technology[4]. A Verification Intellectual Property (VIP) is a pre-verified and reusable Intellectual Property that can generate tests for SoC verification due to its in-built verification infrastructure. Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) has been used for modelling the master and slave VIP.

The oldest building material in the construction industry is the clay brick and in fact, it is the first manufactured one by man. Now-a-days, brick is one of the most common masonry units used as building material in the construction industry. Hence, the huge demand occurred in building material industry especially in the last decade owing to the increasing population. India is the second largest brick manufacturer in the world. India produces bricks using the traditional methods that are more than 125,000 registered / unregistered clay brick kilns, which meet the annual demand of more than 250 billion bricks. The traditional methods consume 350 million tons of fertile soil and 25 million tons of coal annually (KEN RESEARCH Pvt. Ltd). Abstract

Unmanned aerial vehicles have been used in many areas nowadays. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) have been gained importance because of the reasons such as degradation of nature balance, increasing internal and external wars, border security, and archaeological studies due to the advantages of such as discovery, surveillance and data transfer. In this study, there is a choice of the optimum location to facilitate the UAVs in natural disasters. In the study, the most appropriate location is found in the GAMS optimization program, taking into consideration the probability of disaster according to the catastrophe, the severity according to catastrophe, the population, population density, the height and range that can be reached according to the types and types of UAVs and the availability of hydrogen energy for the using it for UAVs. The work aims to perform the distribution of the needs at minimum time.

Abstract

In the context of sensor array applied to the field of Direction of Arrival (DOA) estimation there were several methods, whose development had the objective to identify the angle of incidence of electromagnetic waves for wireless communication systems. This paper proposes a new DOA estimation algorithm based on eigenvalues combination of the estimated spatial covariance matrix. The proposed method presented competitive RMSE performance when compared to MUSIC, based on orthogonal subspaces, in mutual coupling condition, specifically for large number of sources.

Abstract

The main concern of the paper is to analyze physical layer succeeding OFDM,i.e., a multi-carrier system applying filter banks omitting severe out-of-band leakage of OFDM.First standard Filter bank structure was considered and reduced to another structure with polyphase elements of the prototype filter. The generated waveforms are spectrally well-contained, with very small power leakage to adjacent frequencies, and are thus good candidates for opportunistic and heterogeneous spectrum use scenarios. On the side of receiver, the filter bank approach can be used for simultaneously processing multiple channels with individually tunable bandwidths, different center frequencies, and timing offsets, providing asynchronous multi-user operation. Generallythese implementations are compared with traditional polyphase designs in terms of different spectral characteristics and computational complexity.

Abstract

Cuprous oxide (Cu2O) thin films were prepared on glass substrates using electron beam evaporation and studied the effect of annealing temperature on the compositional, structural, microstructural, electrical and optical properties. From the XRD results, (111) is preferred orientation and polycrystalline nature increases with annealing temperature. The obtained lattice parameter values are lower than the bulk value. By increasing the annealing temperature the grains grew much bigger and islands also appeared. The electrical resistivity and optical band gap of the films decreases with increasing of annealing temperature.

Abstract

A novel bio-inspired optimization algorithm based on the theory of multi verse in physics known as Multi-verse optimizer (MVO) Algorithm in contrast to meta-heuristics; main feature is randomization having a relevant role in both exploration and exploitation in optimization problem. A novel randomization technique termed adaptive technique is integrated with MVO and exercised on unconstraint test benchmark function and localization of partial discharge in transformer like geometry. MVO algorithm has quality feature that it covers vast area as considers universes and uses terms like white, black and warm hole represents exploration, exploitation and local minimum in optimization problems. Integration of new randomization adaptive technique provides potential that AMVO algorithm to attain global optimal solution and faster convergence with less parameter dependency. Adaptive MVO (AMVO) solutions are evaluated and results shows its competitively better performance over standard MVO optimization algorithms.

Abstract

This paper deals with numerical solution of stagnation point flow of nanofluid due to an inclined stretching sheet. The governing partial differential equations are transformed in to a system of coupled ordinary differential equations using similarity transformations. The resulted ordinary differential equations were solved using the fourth order Runge-Kutta method with shooting technique. The various parameters in the system such as the Grashof number Gr, the solutal Grashof number Gc, the angle of inclination  , the Prandtle number Pr, the Lewis number Le, the Brownian motion parameter Nb, the thermophoresis parameter Nt, the skin friction Cf,the local Sherwood number Sh, the local Nusselt number Nu were determined for different cases and analyzed............

In this paper, we present the basic classification techniques. The Bayesian statistics is beneficial for big learning with the recent development of cognitive phenomena. This paper gives an idea of Bayesian inference from Big data and Cognitive Science perspectives. The advantages of Bayesian inference for the assessment of Big Data have been discussed. The probabilistic approach of Bayesian statistics from cognitive aspect can be applied at various levels. The Bayes Theorem in terms of cognition can be expressed and explained.
